Description
A Snapshot of Your DayJoin a dynamic team providing essential manufacturing solutions for our large generator components production. You will lead technical support for operations such as machining, brazing, winding, assembly, and insulating. Your focus will be on developing innovative processes and tools to enhance our Parallel Rings department, driving continuous improvement. Additionally, you will train production employees, empowering them to excel in their roles.
This role is based in our Fort Payne, Alabama, USA factory, with a weekday shift schedule.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance production efficiency, safety, and quality.
- Optimize manufacturing processes for timely, high-quality production.
- Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues, implementing corrective and preventative actions.
- Create detailed work instructions for manufacturing new and service generator components.
- Conduct manufacturing process reviews and assist with employee training on product design and quality elements.
- Design and procure manufacturing and assembly tooling, producing 3D CAD/2D drawings and managing tooling records.
- Plan and execute cross-functional projects related to shop floor layout and Lean Manufacturing.
- Collaborate on process improvements, cost savings, waste reduction, and quality enhancement.
- Provide technical expertise to optimize manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Research and implement innovative tools to accelerate manufacturing.
- Analyze factory capacity and develop strategies to maximize output.
- Train colleagues in Lean Topics and High-Performance Team practices.
- Challenge the status quo to find innovative manufacturing solutions.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience in electrical, electronic, mechanical, or industrial engineering, with 3+ years in manufacturing.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively across all organizational levels and with external partners.
- Proven project management skills, manage tooling vendors and floor resources effectively to ensure project success.
- Flexibility to adapt to a changing work environment.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- 3D CAD experience with NX is desirable.
- Working knowledge of copper brazing is a plus.
- Proficient in Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to relocate to the Fort Payne, AL area if not already local.
